About Grill City

Located at 15235 Southwest Fwy, Sugar Land, TX 77478, Grill City operates as a pan-asian restaurant serving Sugar Land in Texas. This page gathers the practical details people usually look for before visiting: where it is, how to reach it, when it opens and how customers rate it.

This group covers Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Indian and other Asian cuisines that are not Chinese, and the etiquette varies by kitchen. Japanese and Korean restaurants often take reservations for dinner and may add a service charge for large groups; Thai and Vietnamese spots are usually walk-in and quick-turnover. Spice levels are frequently adjustable on request at Thai, Indian and Sichuan-adjacent menus, so say if you want it mild or hot. Korean BBQ restaurants typically charge per person for all-you-can-eat service with a time limit, and grills are shared at the table. Vietnamese pho shops post bowl sizes (regular or large) and a plate of herbs, bean sprouts and lime is normal to add yourself. Card and tap-to-pay are widely accepted; cash-only is more common at small family-run counters.

Sugar Land is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Sugar Land follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Brightly lit, clean, and hot, fresh food with many healthy vegetable-based options. It’s very difficult not to see staff wiping down tables and disinfecting trays for the next customers. The entire Seafood City store is very clean, which makes me believe it’s well managed. That’s why I love shopping at Asian grocery stores in general: you’d be hard-pressed to find an out-of-order toilet, staff goofing off, or them staring at their phones while on the clock, like at many chain grocery stores I’m used to (looking at you, Kroger, Spec’s). The Grill City experience is quite similar to a cafeteria inside a high-end airport (e.g., Denver, Colorado), which is nice if you’re into that vibe. I was told it feels like you’re in Manila. It’s bustling on weekends, but thankfully the lines move quickly. The BBQ skewers with vinegar sauce are my favorite. They’re cooked over an open-flame charcoal grill, similar to Japanese yakitori, giving them a nice smoky flavor. Many other dishes have names I can’t pronounce, but they’re generally plant-based, healthy, and not over-seasoned with salt or filled with junk ingredients like sugar, lards, or seed oils (from what I can taste, anyway). Disappointing. Large selection of pre-cooked Filipino food with good flavor, but overpriced. Large rice and noodles sides and skimpy protein. Definitely not interested in their loyalty program.

Delicious food and a great value. Pork bbq on a stick, pork adobo, 2 scoops of rice and a soda for $15. Great options to get food to go. Very clean seating area too.

I ordered yesterday food including bihon, menudo, lechon belly for the new year. I picked up the food at 3.50pm. We ate it for the new year unfortunately the bihon had a spoiled smell before midnight. We couldn’t even eat it. The menudo doesn’t taste like menudo. It looks like kalderata. Im quite disappointed.

Packed! Came to Sugarland just to experience Seafood City on a long weekend and most Filipinos drove from different cities to experience a piece of home. So worth it. The night we came we ordered chicharon bulaklak, Laing, bopis, squid, grilled fish and our tummy was happy. The next day we ordered take out of grilled fish, halo halo ($10 for two!). The line was long all the way to the entrance of the seafood city for more than two hours. But everybody was polite and enjoying the karaoke going on promoting a concert in October for Gary V. Must come!!!
